WHAT IS MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security mechanism that requires multiple forms of identification or verification to access a system. It adds an extra layer of protection beyond just using a username and password for authentication.
Traditionally, authentication relies on a single factor, your password. However, MFA combines two or more factors such as One-Time Password (OTP), biometrics or smart cards.
